First Prehistoric Seeds Found

First Prehistoric Seeds Found
By Audrey Sladek

My Current Event is prehistoric flowering seeds from the dinosaur era recently discovered. The seeds were taken to a lab in Sweden to be analyzed. The lead author of the study, Else Marie Friis, and her colleagues used a synchrotron radiation X-ray tomographic microscopy (SRXTM) to analyze the seeds. They believe that some insects from the same time period. The study notes were published on December 16, 2015.

I chose this topic as my current event because I thought that this discovery would tell us a lot about the Mesozoic era and maybe even give us information about where to find other important fossils from this time period.  This interests me a lot because we don’t know very much about that time period and just by finding these seeds is a huge step towards more knowledge.
