In June 2015, researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital took cells from a dead rat’s arm and grew a whole entire new arm in a lab then transplanted it back onto a living rat and it was able to circulate blood. This lab-grown limb in the future might lead scientists to be able to grow a human arm, by taking cells from it and then attaching it to the spot where they lost their limb.
I chose this article because it seemed interesting and the picture grabbed my attention instantly by seeing a rat’s arm with no skin. I came across this article by reading Discover Magazine. Also I learned a lot from this article now I know that people can grow a limb and then attach it to someone or something and it will circulate blood. I thought this was a great idea and in the future scientist could grow a human arm and then attach it to human and was also good idea to test on rats.
